OTTAWA — Keeping OC Transpo buses running on time while city roads and the Transitway are dug up for a rail project next year will be a challenge, reports the Ottawa Citizen.
The five-year construction project will cause many traffic problems, which could be an opportunity to attract people to transit — but only if the service is good, according to John Manconi, the service's chief. OC Transpo reported a few weeks ago that buses are on time during morning rush hour 72 percent of the time, and 61 percent of the time in afternoon rush hour — a record high.
