Review: No fiscal oversight at RIPTA

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A state police officer who was chosen to overhaul Rhode Island Public Transit Authority’s (RIPTA) troubled operations told AP that the agency lacked so much oversight that it would pay bills before checking to see if it could cover the expenses.

The officer’s review of RIPTA found several problems, including not analyzing its monthly cash flow, and said that it will likely run out of cash early next year. For the full story, click here.
