BAE's Series-E HybriDrive features more electric capability
It combines BAE’s highly efficient HybriDrive series propulsion system with advanced power electronics to drive and manage all vehicle accessory systems electrically; enable engine stop/start; anti-idling; and implement advanced EV modes for more efficient, cleaner and quieter operation.


BAE Systems’ HybriDrive Series-E is the next generation HybriDrive propulsion system with even more electric capability and more robust components.
It combines BAE’s highly efficient HybriDrive series propulsion system with advanced power electronics to drive and manage all vehicle accessory systems electrically; enable engine stop/start; anti-idling; and implement advanced EV modes for more efficient, cleaner and quieter operation.
Benefits include up to 60% fuel savings; up to 40% savings over a conventional bus, including an additional 10% savings if accessories are powered electrically; and up to an additional 10% with engine stop/start technology and anti-idling features included.
Reduced fuel usage, the use of fewer belts and guards, the removal of standard alternator and starter, and the removal of hydraulic lines in the engine compartment help to lower overall operating and maintenance costs, according to BAE.
