98% of N.Y. subways now running

LONG BEACH, N.Y. — New York public transit officials restored limited service to the last of 10 branches of the Long Island Rail Road commuter line that suffered damage from Hurricane Sandy and said that nearly all New York City subway service is now operational, the AP reported.
