MCI delivers 2013 J4500s to U.S., Canada

Springfield, Mass.-based Peter Pan Bus Lines added a new 2013 MCI J4500s to its fleet, assuring that its passengers will be among the first on the block to enjoy the model’s cutting-edge good looks, more leg room and a smoother ride, along with new clean-diesel engine technology that helps the coach reduce emissions and burn less fuel.

Additionally, the coaches feature wheelchair lifts, three-point seatbelts, Wi-Fi, and 110-volt outlets at each of the 54 seats that make it easy for passengers to use their laptops and other devices. All Peter Pan coaches also feature a GPS system that the company uses to eliminate unnecessary idling and help monitor speeds and braking to improve fuel efficiency by up to 8%.

Meanwhile, Howard Bus Service Ltd. of Athens, Ontario, took delivery of Canada’s first redesigned 2013 MCI J4500 coach.

The company has a long history with MCI as it was also the first in Ontario to take delivery of the MC-9 back in 1979, and its relationship with the coach builder goes back to 1977, when Howard bought its first MCI, an MC-8.

The MCI J4500 has been the industry’s best-selling coach for eight years running, thanks to its blend of sophisticated styling and workhorse reliability. The new model owes some of its new 2013 flair to BMW DesignworksUSA, which assisted with the 2001 model debut as well.
