CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The Chapel Hill Town Council voted to make religious and political message ads acceptable on town-owned buses. Transit staffers had mistakenly been following this policy since June 2011, reported Chapelboro.com.
Under the newly-approved policy, the Church of Reconciliation’s controversial ads calling for an end to U.S. military aid to Israel will remain on Chapel Hill Transit buses.
