N.C. council votes to allow religious, political bus ads

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The Chapel Hill Town Council voted to make religious and political message ads acceptable on town-owned buses. Transit staffers had mistakenly been following this policy since June 2011, reported Chapelboro.com.

Under the newly-approved policy, the Church of Reconciliation’s controversial ads calling for an end to U.S. military aid to Israel will remain on Chapel Hill Transit buses. However, transit staff has the right to reject any ads that might reasonably be judged as offensive. To read the full story, click here.
