Texas council authorizes $25M for rail vehicles

FORT WORTH, Texas — The Regional Transportation Council voted to authorize $25 million in local funding for the purchase of rail vehicles to be used on the TEX Rail commuter line between southwest Fort Worth and DFW Airport, reported the Star-Telegram.

In addition to the local funding, $25 million from the Texas Transportation Commission and $50 million from the Fort Worth Transportation Authority will make up the $100 million needed to purchase the vehicles. The vehicles have not yet been purchased. To read the full story, click here.
