LOS ANGELES — Under the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Metro Art program, the 10 new Expo Line stations that opened last spring feature 176 art panels by 10 artists, reported the Los Angeles Times.
A panel reviewed and selected the artists, whose work reflects the history and heritage of the designated neighborhoods. Funding for the stations comes from a combination of federal, state and local funds with half of 1% of construction costs designated for art. To read the full story, click here.
