The generosity of 3,300 delegates and strong support from corporate sponsors enabled the American Bus Association (ABA) Foundation to raise more than $150,000 during ABA’s Marketplace 2013.

These funds will help power the ABA Foundation for 2013 and enable the organization to focus on its core mission of providing critical research and scholarships to the motorcoach, tour and travel industry.

The ABA Foundation does not have a dedicated funding source and relies exclusively on charitable contributions from industry companies and individuals for its entire budget.

“Marketplace delegates have, once again, shown their generosity and support for the work of the ABA Foundation,” said Foundation Chairman Doug Anderson.  “We are working every day to provide the information and tools that the industry needs to change minds and win new allies for motorcoach travel and tourism.”

The ABA Foundation is calling on its industry family to visit www.buses.org and apply for 20 scholarships worth nearly $60,000. The program has supported over 200 industry scholars providing nearly $600,000 in scholarship funds. Scholarships offered range from $2,500 to $10,000, with categories open to bus and tour operators, hoteliers, restaurants, museums and every facet of the motorcoach, tour and travel industry.
