NTSB unveils PTC forum agenda

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released the final agenda and list of panelists for the forum, Positive Train Control: Is It On Track? scheduled for Feb. 27.

Representatives from government, industry, academia and labor will serve as panelists during the forum and discuss safety, regulatory and technology issues surrounding PTC, which is designed to keep trains separated and prevent collisions. The panel will explore how the current implementation of PTC compares to the way PTC was envisioned by regulators, industry, and others.

The forum will be held at the NTSB Conference Center and Board Room in downtown Washington at 429 L'Enfant Plaza SW, Washington, D.C. 20594, and is free and open to all. No registration is required.

Organizations and/or individuals can submit input for consideration as part of the forum's archived materials. Submissions should directly address one or more of the forum's topic areas (identified by the panel titles) and should be submitted electronically as an attached document to: PTCforum@ntsb.gov. The deadline for receipt is March 8. Input received will be entered into the NTSB's public docket on this forum.
