SCRANTON, Pa. — thetimes-tribune reported that fewer senior citizens are using the County of Lackawanna Transit System compared to 10 years ago, despite a statewide increase in the elderly population. However, those who rely on the services, or say they will be soon, are concerned that the services will not be able to accommodate their needs.
The agency provided 399,383 free rides to senior citizens in 2012 — 188,722 fewer than the preceding year. For the full story, click here.
