MINNEAPOLIS — The project manager of Northern Lights Express, a proposed high-speed rail line connecting Minneapolis and Duluth, led an environmental assessment open house and told KSTP.com the project is gaining traction.

The 155-mile route would run up to 110 miles per hour between the cities. The trip would take between two to two-and-a-half hours, since speeds would be slower in the cities and time would be factored in for stops at stations along the way. Minnesota is using $8 million in initial funding to move into a preliminary engineering stage later this year, which could last for two or three years. For the full story, click here.
