MV Transportation Inc. will become the new service provider for the Village of Schaumburg’s Dial-A-Ride Transportation (DART) service beginning June 1, 2013.

DART is a door-to-door transportation service provided to the general public by the Village of Schaumburg with funding assistance from Pace Suburban Bus. DART provides pick-up and drop-off service from anywhere within the Village of Schaumburg and also to Harper College in Palatine.

The DART service utilizes a Pace Bus-supplied fleet of 15 passenger vehicles and will employ 21 professional operators and staff to run the transit operation.

The Village of Schaumburg and MV will implement a number of new technologies to improve service, including DriveCam, a vehicle monitoring system on each vehicle to ensure safe operations and protect both its passengers and drivers.

MV will also use the Trapeze scheduling system to manage the DART service, identify potential efficiencies and improve customer service. An enhanced phone reservation system and interactive voice recognition-inspired systems are also planned, as is equipment to allow the Village of Schaumburg staff to monitor the DART service in real time.
