Sen. Frank Lautenberg dedicated career to transit

NEWARK, N.J. — TransportationNation’s Kate Hinds reported on U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg’s (N.J.) constant support of transportation, particularly Amtrak and train travel in general, throughout his career.

Hinds pointed to the fact that the senator was responsible for some of the most important transportation policies in the country, including instituting stricter limits on blood alcohol levels for drivers, and increasing the federal drinking age to 21.

Lautenberg also secured funding for a NJ Transit transfer station in Secaucus; it was named for him in 2003. For the full story, click here.
