Keolis Transit America appointed Stephen W. Shaw as its new chief operating officer.

“Steve has a proven record of strong leadership, has managed successful operations and has a keen eye for safety innovation, efficiency and profitability,” said Michael Griffus, CEO, Keolis Transit America. “He has been awarded and recognized for his dedication and we look forward to having his leadership, influence and support in moving Keolis forward.”

Shaw has 34 years of experience in the transportation industry with an extensive background in managing and directing operations. He began his career in his family’s business, Shaw Bus Service, operating school buses and motorcoaches in Baltimore. He worked in all facets of the business, eventually serving as VP of Operations until the company was acquired by Laidlaw Transit.

As regional manager for Laidlaw Transit, he oversaw multiple operating locations and contributed significantly to increases in gross revenue and profitability for the company. Shaw then went on to serve as regional VP for Veolia Transportation Services, substantially growing his region.
