Supreme's upgraded bus plant fully operational

Supreme Corp. announced the full operation of its newly expanded, upgraded and re-designed bus manufacturing plant, located on the corporate campus in Goshen, Ind. This 145,000-square-foot production facility opened its first of three production lines in early 2013.

Today, all three production lines are producing cutaway buses, heavy-duty buses and large buses for their nationwide dealer network and the Classic American Trolley exclusively for Specialty Vehicles. Consolidating all production operations under one roof has offered new levels of efficiency, not possible with the prior production facility which used multiple buildings for various manufacturing operations. Efficiencies extend to significant improvements in parts supply to the line, inventory control and unit production.

Supreme cited an improvement in vehicle quality as a result of an increased number of production work stations allowing for a more focused employee responsibility at each location. Vastly improved lighting added to the improvement results as well. Also, greatly upgraded employee facilities and lunchroom have improved the production personnel work environment and experience.

In addition to the new production facility, Supreme also completely rebuilt, upgraded and expanded their bus division office space which houses production management, sales, purchasing and bus division engineering.

The new facility also boasts a new bus display room for use in customer deliveries, inspections and training.
