Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) selected Blue Alliance Partners (BAP) — a joint venture of HNTB and Dikita Enterprises Inc. — as lead designer for the $101 million South Oak Cliff (SOC) Extension 3 project.

The joint venture team will manage the $13.8 million design services contract, which includes engineering, architectural design services and construction management.

Scheduled for completion in December 2016, the almost three-mile SOC-3 line section will extend the Blue Line south from Ledbetter Station toward the University of North Texas Dallas campus and include renovation of the Ledbetter station and two new DART stations, providing a new element of convenience to the surrounding neighborhoods.

The SOC-3 project will complete DART’s 96-mile rail system, the longest light rail system in the country.

The design team of HNTB and Dikita Enterprises Inc., collaborating as Blue Alliance Partners (BAP), will provide professional services to the SOC-3 initiative including project design, construction facilitation, and oversight of the general contractor to ensure quality and on-schedule completion.

BAP will manage civil, structural, architectural and system design services; specifications; noise and vibration; quality assurance and control; project controls; construction management services and systems integration of the project.
