NEW YORK — New York Daily News reported that a New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) paratransit coordinator went beyond the call of duty to act as Daniel Robert and Nadina Laspina's chauffeur on their wedding day.
Donna Fredericksen, the coordinator, worked with the city Clerk’s Office, the mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities, and Maggies Paratransit, an MTA contractor, to ensure the plans went smoothly, and that the couple got VIP treatment. The couple took an Access-A-Ride van from their home to the Municipal Building downtown to exchange wedding vows and then rode it back home in celebration, joined by a few friends.
