CHICAGO — The University of Chicago (UC) plans to add UCID card readers to all shuttles at the start of winter quarter, after a test run with the new 53rd Street Express Shuttle launching on Monday, reported The Chicago Maroon.

The new policy is being implemented to help the university’s Transportation and Parking Services collect ridership information from shuttle users to evaluate the popularity and efficiency of each shuttle route

Previously, members of the university were “encouraged” to display a valid UCID when boarding a shuttle, with the policy not being strictly enforced. For the full story, click here.
