RICHMOND, Ky. — The Eastern Progress reported that Eastern Kentucky University launched a pilot project, called South of Lancaster Avenue, to offer a shuttle service to students, staff and faculty who commute from off campus. The service costs $1.00 a day or $25.00 for the semester.
Markus Cross, director of marketing and public relations for the university, told the paper that the project was funded by the university president’s office, which set aside $15,000 to run the service through the spring semester. The initiative is an attempt to cut down on traffic congestion on campus and familiarize Richmond residents with public transit. For the full story, click here.
