Sacramento, Calif.-based Paratransit Inc., the second-largest paratransit provider in California, selected Clean Energy Fuels Corp. to provide compressed natural gas (CNG) station design, construction, operation and maintenance services to support its conversion to natural gas vehicles.

Paratransit is planning to shift its entire fleet, 180 vehicles in all, to CNG in the coming years. An initial 60 Ford E-350 and E-450 CNG-powered paratransit buses will access fuel at the new station.

The public-access, fast-fill station will feature two dual-hose CNG dispensers. In addition to the public demand for fuel, the fully deployed Paratransit Inc. fleet will eventually consume approximately one million gasoline gas equivalent of CNG annually.
