The Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (MTA) Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) introduced the newest version of its popular “TrainTime” mobile app with improvements that make it easier than ever for LIRR customers to obtain the most up-to- date train information available.

Among the new features of TrainTime are an easier to use station picker screen, improved arrival countdown screen, enhanced trip search capability, detailed station parking information and a new server that enables the LIRR to handle more than 2,000 TrainTime requests per minute, a capacity upgrade meant to meet demand during service interruptions.

With the new app, basic train information is now available even when a customer can't locate cellular service. This latest version of train time was developed by the LIRR with the help of customer feedback that began to arrive soon after the original app went public.
