The International Olympic Committee expressed concern about the completion of transportation projects in Athens, Greece, in time for the 2004 Olympics. A proposed light rail line has yet to be built, leaving many to wonder if it will be done in time for the event. Transport Minister Christos Verelis promised the line would be ready in time even though Athens’ mayor has filed a suit to block the project because of fears it could worsen traffic in some areas.
