A consortium, comprising Bombardier Transportation and Alstom LHB, signed a contract with S-Bahn Hamburg GmbH for the supply of nine electric multiple units (EMUs) and the retrofit of 33 EMUs. The order is valued at $104 million, with Bombardier's share being approximately $52 million. Bombardier is responsible for the electrical equipment, which will be produced at its facility in Mannheim, Germany. Consortium leader Alstom is in charge of the mechanical scope of the order. The 42 new and retrofitted three-car dual-voltage trainsets are scheduled to be delivered from March 2006 to August 2007.
