Vapor-Stone UK Ltd., a unit of railroad equipment manufacturer Wabtec Corp., received a $22 million contract Tuesday to overhaul subway cars for the London Underground. Under the contract, Vapor-Stone will revamp door systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for Metronet Rail, which is responsible for upgrading two-thirds of the subway system. Completion of the upgrades is slated for 2005.
