Bombardier Transportation received a train order worth $172 million from German train operator Landesnahverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen.
The contract includes 78 double-deck coaches and nine locomotives, with delivery expected to take place between May 2006 and the end of 2007.
The vehicles will be intermediate and driving coaches and will have first- and second-class coaches.
The coaches will be manufactured at Bombardier's Gorlitz site and the locomotives will be produced at the company's Kassel facility.
