URS Corp. was selected by Miami-Dade Transit to provide preliminary and final design services for a 2.6-mile rail project. The aerial rail line will link the existing Earlington Heights Metrorail Station with the planned Miami Intermodal Center at Miami International Airport. Once completed, the Intermodal Center will be a connection point for Metrorail, commuter rail and bus services, and will also provide parking and rental car facilities. The three-year contract is valued at $16 million.
