Parsons, joint-ventured with Tishman Construction Corp. and Arup, has been awarded a contract by NJ Transit to provide engineering services on Phase 1 of the $7 billion Trans-Hudson Express Tunnel in New Jersey.

The group will provide design oversight; make cost estimates; develop a master project schedule; create a quality control plan; and coordinate outreach programs to ensure opportunities for participation of women- and minority-owned businesses in both New Jersey and New York.

The Trans-Hudson Express Tunnel will provide two single-track rail tubes beneath the Hudson River and the Palisades and will connect New Jersey to Midtown Manhattan, as well as increase NJ Transit's capacity to move customers between New Jersey and New York.
