Wabtec Rail has signed a $30 million contract to refurbish 40 passenger cars for high-speed trains operated in the U.K. by XC Trains Limited.
Under the contract, Wabtec will refurbish the car interiors, including new seating, luggage racks and lighting; paint the exterior; and convert 21 locomotive-hauled cars to make them compatible for high-speed operation.
The project will begin immediately, with deliveries scheduled for 2008.
