Birmingham, Ala.-based TicketBiscuit LLC announced the launch of WhistleTix, a ticketing system built for the tourist railway and railroad museum industry, at the Association of Railway Museums Annual Conference in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Designed to be user-friendly, WhistleTix is an entirely Web-based system that provides the capability for museums and railroads to upload specific railcar descriptions and pictures, and enables operators to easily change the configuration of railcars as needed.

The ticketing system also has built-in features to help operators sell more tickets and reach younger audiences, such as an email newsletter engine, customer management tools, and tools that enable ticket buyers to share events and plans with their friends via popular social media sites such as Facebook and MySpace.
