Bombardier Transportation showcased its new portfolio of technologies, products and solutions intended to maximize energy-efficient operation and total train performance at the APTA EXPO.

The new ECO4 products include a driver assistance system that helps save up to 15 percent of traction energy by assisting drivers with information on speed and traction force; a simulation tool that enables operators to simulate and optimize energy consumption, reducing energy use by 20 percent; and a regenerative braking system for light rail vehicles that delivers energy savings of up to 30 percent.

All ECO4 products are fully operable and can easily be customized to any fleet, potentially providing an energy savings of up to 50 percent.
