Oahu voters to decide on transit authority

HONOLULU — Voters in Oahu will decide in November whether to set up a transit authority to oversee rail transit and bus service, according to a KITV report. Supporters say a transit authority — with three members appointed by the council and three others by the mayor — would be more independent than the mayor's transportation department.
