Michael T. McNamara, P.E., was recently named president of Gannett Fleming Transit & Rail Systems, a division specializing in transit and railroad track, signal, communication and electric traction design.

A senior associate based in the firm’s Valley Forge, Pa., office, McNamara previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of the division. He succeeds Raymond L. Hofsass, P.E., who retired in December 2010.

With more than 35 years of experience, McNamara has an extensive background in the design, construction, and maintenance of railroads and transit systems. He specializes in train control, traction power, and communications systems for rail transportation.
