Florida Gov. turns down high-speed rail funds

NEW YORK — Wednesday, Florida Gov. Rick Scott rejected $2 billion in federal funds, effectively canceling for a high-speed rail line between Tampa and Orlando, The New York Times reports.

Scott said cost overruns related to the project could leave Florida taxpayers with an additional $3 billion tab. For the full story, click here.
