Sierra Club rethinks stance on Hawaii rail

HONOLULU — While in 2008 the Sierra Club's Hawaii chapter came out in support of the steel-on-steel rail proposal, it is now reconsidering its position on the $5.3 billion project, Hawaii News Now reported.

The Sierra Club is surveying its 4,000 Oahu members about rail and will hold a membership meeting to decide whether to change its position on rail, Robert Harris, the director of the Sierra Club in the islands, told Hawaii News Now. For the full story, click here.
