DETROIT — Detroit’s proposed streetcar project lost out on a federal grant worth up to $25 million Tuesday due to lingering concerns about operating costs.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood announced the decision, but said the $137 million streetcar line was still in the running to receive that amount from other grant programs, the Detroit Free Press reported. For the full story, click here.
