Ore. light rail supporters rally

MILWAUKIE, Ore. — Portland area light rail supporters and opponents are making their final pitches to voters on the anti-rail initiative Measure 3-401 just weeks before a special election to be held September 18, OregonLive reported.

The measure, if approved, would require countywide voter approval before officials can use funds to finance, design, construct or operate any rail lines in the county. Positively Clackamas, the group that opposes the measure and supports light rail, has raised $12,250. Clackamas Rail Vote, which supports the measure and opposes light rail, has raised $16,760.
