BERKELEY, Calif. — The Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) recently launched an early earthquake warning system developed by University of California, Berkeley, seismologists, KGO-TV reported.

Electronic alerts are sent over the Internet to the transit system and other end users, such as Google. BART is the first transit agency in the U.S. to use the system. For the full story, click here.
