SEATTLE — Sound Transit’s (ST) new commuter rail service to and from Lakewood, which started October 8, has attracted a smaller ridership than predicted. ST forecasted 380 to 530 daily boardings within the first two years of operation, reports Crosscut.com.

In the first 17 days of revenue service, each of the five weekday round-trips saw an average of 237 passengers at two new stops. To reach the operator’s predicted daily boardings by October 2014, ST will need a 60% to 125% increase in ridership. To read the full story, click here.
