Vancouver pushes for $2.6B subway line

VANCOUVER — The City of Vancouver is pushing for a $2.8-billion rapid-transit line that would run underground along the Broadway corridor, instead of a streetcar service. Officials said a subway would be more efficient and less disruptive than the streetcar service, reports The Vancouver Sun.

The push comes after years of discussion about how to relieve passenger congestion along the corridor. The route sees about 160,000 daily transit trips. To read the full story, click here.
