Atlanta transit plans still under way despite setback

ATLANTA — Despite the failure of the regional T-SPLOST referendum over the summer, mass transit projects are springing up across the city of Atlanta, including a new streetcar and planned rail component of the Beltline, reported The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Although MARTA riders have endured cutbacks and fare hikes, city officials claim this does not dim the prospects for other transit projects. Officials believe that a public-private partnership could help fund rail on the Beltline, which was originally to receive $602 million through T- SPLOST. To read the full story, click here.
