Maine council votes to pursue transit study

PORTLAND, Maine — City councilors unanimously passed a resolution for renewed study of public transit from Portland to the Lewiston-Auburn area, reported The Bangor Daily News.

The state Department of Transportation has been considering options such as train service to reduce traffic congestion. The study would seek funding from the Federal Transit Administration’s New Starts and Small Starts programs. To read the full story, click here.
