Calif. HSRA, city settle lawsuit over route

Posted on January 30, 2013

FRESNO, Calif. — The Fresno Bee reported that the California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) settled a lawsuit filed by the city of Chowchilla over the rail agency's approval of a bullet-train route between Merced and Fresno. The rail authority agreed to consider the city's concerns about the route options in and around the city and cover up to $300,000 of the city's legal fees associated with the lawsuit.

The settlement removes one hurdle from the CHSRA's plans to begin construction this year in Madera and Fresno counties on the first segment of its proposed statewide system. For the full story, click here.
