Miami-Dade rail installs info monitors for $5.6M

MIAMI — The Miami Herald reported that Miami-Dade Transit installed liquid crystal display (LCD) screens at several Metrorail stations. The monitors display arrival and departure times for the next three trains and show which line they serve. The project will cost $5.66 million.

The screens are the latest technological improvement on the Metrorail system, which opened in 1984 with a single line. An agency spokeswoman told the paper that the monitors will eventually be installed in all 23 Metrorail stations. For the full story, click here.
