Monorail connecting Texas Tech, downtown possible, developer says

LUBBOCK, Texas — A downtown developer said a monorail connecting Texas Tech University and the downtown area of Lubbock could be part of a new era of growth in the region, reported the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

Delbert McDougal, whose contract was recently extended by the City Council, has a plan that would increase Tech’s presence in the district and add student housing and accommodations for several thousand people living downtown. Although he admits the plan is bold and optimistic, McDougal says the idea is not out of reach. For the full story, click here.
