Designers unveil self-cleaning subway grips

Discovery News reported that a team of designers has created Cyclean, a new handle design that works similarly to rotating cloth towel machines, disinfecting the strap as it revolves.

The designers told the news outlet that pulling the Cyclean strap rotates it through a small plastic chamber that contains a sponge, a cleaning and disinfecting agent and rollers. The designers won an award for the concept.  For the full story, click here.
