NEWARK – New Jersey Transit’s board is on the verge of appointing Neil S. Yellin as the agency’s first deputy executive director in 12 years, reported the Asbury Park Press.
Executive Director Veronique Hakim will continue to oversee rail and bus transportation instead of passing it to a subordinate, according to the report. Her deputy would be responsible for “non-operating” departments such as customer service, communications, corporate affairs, civil rights and diversity, human resources, procurement, technology, government and external affairs.
