BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Niagara Frontier Transit Authority (NFTA) suspended its Metro Rail service overnight to investigate the death of an 18-year-old man who was struck dead on the train tracks, WKBW reports.

During the investigation, Transit Police and the Erie County Medical Examiner determined that the man was laying on his back in the middle of the inbound side of a track on the south side, when a northbound train came down the track because the system was running on a single track.

This is only the second death on NFTA’s tracks, with the last occurring in 1990. For the full story, click here.
