SEATTLE – The Capitol Hill Times reports that Sound Transit is conducting a six-month pilot program to allow buskers at the newly opened Capitol Hill and University of Washington (UW) light rail stations.
While busking has long been practiced at other light rail stations and right-of-way spaces across the city, the busking pilot program permits performances only where a silver-star designation is found. Up to three performers are allowed to occupy a site for up to two hours, except when special events are occurring at UW. Amplification is prohibited, as are potentially unsafe performances, such as those involving knives and fire, according to Sound Transit’s guidelines. For the full story, click here.
