AUSTIN, Texas — With the University of Texas (UT) only kicking in for about 49 percent of the bill, the renewal of a shuttle bus system agreement between Capital Metro and UT will be shortened by one year, so that the agency's new incoming chief can examine the agreement sooner, according to the American-Statesman. The board member responsible for shortening agreement believes that more of the financial onus should be put on UT; however, UT officials feel that the students and staff carry close to five times the fiscal responsibility of those who regularly ride the transit system.
